The vision was, and still is, to allow any person to find the best VPN for their needs and budget in just a few clicks.

Michael’s Story

Michael Gargiulo is an entrepreneur who loves envisioning how things should be, then acting upon his vision. As the founder, CEO, and leader of the VPN.com team, Michael is the guiding force behind his company’s mission to help one billion people achieve a secure, private Internet experience by 2025.

Since purchasing the VPN.com domain for nearly $1 million in 2017, Michael and his hand-picked team of industry experts have made researching, comparing, and buying Internet security tools easier than ever before. In just over two years, the VPN.com brand has become a leading authority in the VPN sector, with recognition from Forbes, The Atlantan, Shark Tank’s Kevin O’Leary, Quora, and the Atlanta Small Business Network.

The path to purchasing VPN.com began when Michael was in college at the University of Georgia, where he built three different websites to four million monthly visitors. The largest of the three now does 700 million visitors per year. After graduating Cum Laude with a degree in Finance, Michael spent three years leading a talented team at ProxyServer.com. While the venture was ultimately a success, Michael knew that the most effective way to build a global brand is on the best real estate. After four years of hunting for the best domain, VPN.com became the premium real estate Michael was looking for.

Today VPN.com provides extensive reviews, comparisons, and statistics on over 1,000 VPN providers. To get to this point, Michael and his team spent more than three years creating the most comprehensive VPN comparison tool on the Internet by compiling research made up of over 188,000 data points. The vision was, and still is, to allow any person to find the best VPN for their needs and budget in just a few clicks.

In addition to VPNs, Michael helps brands and businesses secure high value premium domain names. Having personally completed the VPN.com acquisition, Michael understands the complexities and value of owning an industry-defining domain name. One of Michael’s favorite transactions was CoolMathGames.com, which he contracted for $1.8 million.

When Michael isn’t working, he volunteers as an alumni with the FBLA, writes on his interests for his Forbes column, and plays hockey with his family. Since 2010 Michael has coached over 100 FBLA students, 30 of which have gone on to win national awards. Michael has had the opportunity to work directly with FBLA Executive Director Monty Rhodes at over 20 conferences, meeting thousands of students and advisors as a result.
